Allium ‘Purple Sensation’: dark purple soft ball size flower heads. 2.5-3.5’ tall. I have procrastinated and held bulbs over until November and even then, the hardy bulbs produced blooms the following spring. Cannas are usually grown from tuberous roots but some newer varieties can also be raised from seed, with flowering guaranteed for the first year. Don't panic if you see small nicks and loose skins (tunics). The best time to dig up spring-flowering bulbs, such as your daffodils, is about six weeks after they finish blooming.
